Read More Breaking News Winter Storm Postponements and Cancellations Valentine’s Dinner Dance rescheduled to March 6 (see announcement below for details). Sodality has cancelled their meeting for Sunday and rescheduled for Feb. 14th in the Williamsburg room after 9:30 mass. Due to the inclement weather forecasted for Friday and Saturday, all religious education classes, English and Spanish, are cancelled on Sunday, February 7. According to the yearly religious education calendar, classes are not scheduled for the following Sunday, February 14 because of the Presidents Day holiday weekend. However, classes, English and Spanish, will resume on Sunday, February 21, beginning at 8:00 am. The Rite of Passage (Blessing of Confirmation candidates) is rescheduled also to Sunday, February 21, at the 9:30 am Mass. Valentine's Dinner Dance. It's time again for the annual Valentines's dinner dance sponsored by the Mother Butler Guild of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. It will be held this year on Saturday, March 6, 2010 beginning at 6:30 PM. Everyone is invited. Your donation of $12 will go for fundraising for our parish. St. Michael School is launching the Homer Cup Competition to be held in the Williamsburg Room of St. Michael the Archangel Church on Friday, February 19 at7 PM. Two students from each of the Middle School Classes representing Avalon, Brookwood, and St. Michael will compete in this inaugural poetry competition among the three schools. Mrs. Hellinger's Middle School students participating in this event are: Anjanee Upshur and Ramella Suber, Sixth Graders who will be reciting American poetry; Derrick McNeely and Sharissa Riddock, 7th Graders, who have selected European poets; and two 8th Graders from among Charles Jordan, Libby Smislova, Trisha Pilgrim, and Kaleb Harris, who will present Shakespearean sonnets. Two teachers each from Avalon, Brookwood, and St. Michael will judge the contestants according to the given criteria. We welcome you to attend this historic event and encourage the students with your presence and appreciation of their efforts. St. Michael School Open House.
