Program description:

The Parish Council is a consultative body that brings together lay people, religious and the ordained who, together with their pastor, work jointly to build the parish as a living Christian community. The role of the Parish Council is to plan, develop and recommend with the final decision being left to the pastor.

Membership/volunteer criteria:

The Council consists of the pastor, other ordained clergy, the pastor’s staff, and members appointed by the pastor.

Council activities 2009-2010.

Major activities conducted over the past year have included:

Sponsorship of the St. Michael the Archangel feast day picnic.
Initiation of monthly Hospitality Sundays on the third Sunday of each month where parishioners can meet over coffee and doughnuts following all of the Sunday morning masses.
Promotion of an invigorated Communication Ministry to focus on web site development and improved parish communication.
