Purpose:

The Spiritual Life Mission of the Sodality is to live the Way of Life, which recognizes the presence of Christ in the sodalist’s everyday life. The Way of Life, based on the Spiritual Exercise of St. Ignatius, emphasizes the virtues of faith, hope, and charity, which exemplify the life of Mary, Our Holy Mother. The spiritual life of the sodalist is the primary function of Sodality.

Membership/volunteer criteria:

Prospective members must be instructed in the Apostolic Spirituality through a Candidate Formation Program, which takes place during the months of October and May. There are three formation sessions, each lasting one hour.

Volunteer opportunities:

These include, but are not limited to:

  1. Serve as one of the hostesses for one of the monthly meetings. Time commitment: 1½ hours.
  2. Help with the baked goods/hot dog sale every fourth Sunday. Time commitment: 5 hours.
  3. Help with the Annual Holiday Bazaar and Bake Sale. Time commitment: 5 hours.
  4. Join in saying the Rosary every first Saturday in the church. Time commitment: 45 minutes.
  5. Help fold and mail our quarterly newsletter. Time commitment: 1 hour.
  6. Help with the annual shower for BirthRight of Wheaton. Time commitment: 3 hours.
  7. Help with and attend the annual Communion Breakfast. Time commitment: 6 hours.

Meeting schedule:

The Sodality of Mary meets every first Sunday of the month, except for the months of January, June, July, and August. An executive board meeting is held in January and in June.
